Chapter 7 “Integrating and Documenting Sources” has giving me a detailed understanding on how to properly cite my sources and write a research paper. How to style my paper has always been a problem for me. Reading this chapter has shown me that it is not as difficult as it sounds. I learned the general guidelines on how to cite In-text citations. There is the single phrase which is the author named in phrase, and at the end of the quote the page number is inserted. Or the parenthetical reference which is the author cited in parenthesis. For each in text citation you need to enter the information of where it came from on your Works cited list. What needs to be included (in order) is the author, book title, place of publication, publisher, year, page range, and the format. For some reason, this used to seem so difficult to me, I would try to put it off to the latest time I possibly could. Now, it doesn’t seem like a challenge at all.
